Περιγραφή : Φυλλοβόλο δέντρο , με γρήγορη ανάπτυξη . Ύψος φυτού 6-9 m με αραιό φύλλωμα , ιδιαίτερης καλλωπιστικής αξίας , που αναπτύσσεται αργά την Άνοιξη. Κόμη ομπρελοειδούς διαμόρφωσης . Φύλλα σκουροπράσινα κατ’ εναλλαγή σύνθετα , 10-20 σε αριθμό , αποτελούμενα από 30-50 μικρά, στενόμακρα, φυλλάρια, πτεροειδούς μορφής . Το μήκος του φύλλου φθάνει τα 15-25 cm , ενώ το μήκος έκαστου φυλλαρίου είναι 6-12 mm . Τα φυλλάρια διπλώνουν την νύχτα .
Ανθοφορία : Πλούσια και παρατεταμένη ανθοφορία , από Ιούνιο μέχρι Αύγουστο . Άνθη λευκορόδινα , με ελαφρύ άρωμα σε ταξιανθία φόβη . Καρπός πεπλατυσμένος , στενόμακρος , 15-25 cm μήκος και 2-3 cm πλάτος .
Πολλαπλασιασμός :Πολλαπλασιάζετε με σπόρο , και με εμβολιασμό δέντρων κοινής ακακίας . Οι σπόροι είναι πολύ σκληροί και πρέπει να ενυδατωθούν σε ζεστό νερό για 12 ώρες πριν φυτευτούν .
Απαιτήσεις :Δεν έχει ιδιαίτερες απαιτήσεις όσον αφορά το έδαφος . Αντιστέκεται καλά σε ξηροθερμικές συνθήκες , στο κρύο , ισχυρούς ανέμους , σε υψηλό PH και αλατότητα εδάφους .
